Zooey Deschanel Ditches Signature Look for New Role

Zooey Deschanel completely transformed her look for a new role, setting aside her classic hairstyle for something very different but just as stylish.

The star shared a couple of photos from the set of a new project, showing off bouncy blonde hair with big curls and a middle part.

Deschanel captioned the snaps, "who’s she?"

Although it's likely only for her upcoming role, many were big fans of the look, with actress Melanie Lynskey commenting, "HANG ON you are 100% stunning in this look!!"

Robin Tunney, who you might've seen in The Craft or The Mentalist, wrote to Deschanel, "Lmk if you’re having more fun."

One fan joked, "That’s Katie….Jess’s alter ego," referring to Deschanel's well-known character from the sitcom New Girl.

Another follower was simply amazed at how different Deschanel looked after just changing her hair, commenting, "Everyday she proves why people would’ve not recognised Clark Kent was Superman."

"Lol I legit did not recognize you! 😂," wrote a different fan.

While Deschanel didn't say who the character is, it's likely who she's playing in the third and final season of Apple TV+'s hit series Physical.

With the hair, plus what looks like it could be a bright blue leotard that she's wearing, Deschanel would fit perfectly into the 1980s-set series with the new look.

According to Variety, Deschanel's character is named Kelly, described as “a former sitcom star who jumps into the burgeoning fitness industry.” Other than that, there is no further information about the role.

Physical stars Rose Byrne as Sheila Rubin, an unhappy housewife who decides to build her own business in aerobics, facing a new world of troubles. The third and final season premieres on Aug. 2.
