Wood Festival returning to Erin

ERIN, N.Y. (WETM) — Erin’s annual woodworking festival is returning in less than one week.

Woodworkers, lumberjacks, and fans of woodworking will gather at the Erin Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1462 Breesport Road, this weekend for Wood Fest. This event will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. The Wood Festival will feature local vendors, woodworking competitions, woodcarving demonstrations, music, barbecue chicken, raffles, kids’ games, and more.

BBQ in the Park fundraiser for Glove House coming up

There will be plenty to do at the festival in the morning and early afternoon, but most of Friday’s festivities will begin in the late afternoon. Vendors will start selling their products from 4 p.m. until the end of the day, and the Erin Fire Department will start serving barbecue chicken from 4 p.m. until it runs out. Joey Lee and Chase will be performing live music from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Most of the excitement will be on Saturday. The second day of the festival will feature a lumberjacks and jills competition, quick carves, and vendors. Chicken barbecue will be served for lunch from noon until it runs out. The Variables will perform from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Like the previous days, visitors will be able to shop from vendors on Sunday. Sunday will also feature a chainsaw art auction at 2 p.m.

Any updates about the Wood Festival will be posted on the event’s Facebook page.
