Wildlife Photographer Has Incredibly Close Encounter With Pack of Wolves in the Arctic

Our hats go off to all the wildlife photographers out there who get themselves in pretty risky situations to capture unbelievable moments. We would never have the confidence to be up close and personal with wild animals. That's why we're so appreciative of their bravery.

Photographers can unfortunately find themselves in scary situations with wildlife and the perfect example of this comes from Meline Ellwanger, known on TikTok as @meline.wildlife. Look how incredibly close she gets to a pack of wolves while taking photos in the Arctic. Our hearts stopped!

O.M.G. The amount of chills that went up and down our spines is not okay. We can't believe how close she got to this pack of wolves and yet, she seems so calm, cool, and collected. That's probably because this 20-year-old photographer has been capturing incredible moments of wild animals for the past few years.

It's hard to imagine that wolves are dangerous because they look like cute, big, fluffy dogs, but the truth is that people need to keep their distance. That's how it should be for all wildlife. We hear of instances far too often of people visiting national parks trying to touch wild animals or take a selfie with them. This is a HUGE no-no. Park officials advise staying at least 25 yards away or 100 yards from bears and wolves.

Most wildlife photographers educate themselves on how wild animals behave and the danger signs of those animals before going out to capture photos. They know the risk it involves. They come properly prepared. It is not a job for any Joe Schmoe. And we don't know about you, but we'd rather enjoy the beautiful photos in the comfort of our own homes than having to face these animals in real life. We'll be leaving that to the experts!
