Queen Camilla

Queen Camilla has a break from official duties this week after stepping up in February and packing in many royal events as husband King Charles underwent cancer treatment.

News of her reprieve comes from The Times, which stated that Camilla's next scheduled event is on March 11, when she will reportedly "represent Charles and lead the royal family” at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day.

It is not confirmed if this break is a result of how busy Camilla has been the past few weeks. Sources told People that the Queen typically takes a break around this time of year and that it is not connected to Charles' cancer.

Since Buckingham Palace announced Charles' cancer diagnosis on Feb. 5, Camilla has had about 13 official engagements throughout the rest of the month, including a meeting with Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska and a reception for the BBC’s 500 Words competition at Buckingham Palace.

A royal source told The Times about Camilla's perspective on her duties amid Charles' situation, saying, "Although she was not expecting to find herself in the position of leading the family, the Queen is absolutely prepared to do whatever needs to be done for the institution."

Reports also stated that Camilla's commitment to her royal duties has improved her image, with a royal source telling the publication, “The estimation of her by those inside the palace has soared as she has put her shoulder to the wheel.”

Meanwhile, many await a full update about Princess Kate, who underwent abdominal surgery in late January and has since been recovering. The initial statement from Buckingham Palace stated that the procedure was "planned," and they would only update the public in the future on "significant new information." As for the timeline for when she would be back, it said that Kate would likely resume her royal activities after Easter, which is on March 31.

Despite this, many people continue to share their worries over her condition and current status, leading representatives to confirm that Kate is doing well and still in recovery.
