Dylan Dreyer was noticeably away from her normal position on Today for the morning segment on Monday, Sept. 25.

The news personality joined her broadcast co-star Craig Melvin, along with NBC's Carson Daly, at the Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, to support a cause close to Craig's heart: cancer.

The group was set to participate in a charitable golf tournament to raise funds for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, as part of The Bottoms Up Invitational. The event was held by Craig and his wife, FOX Sports reporter Lindsay Czarniak, in honor of the broadcast journalist's late brother Lawrence, who passed away in 2020 from colon cancer at the age of 43.

But the trio didn't go completely MIA (missing in action), as they still called the Today studio to check in during the show while they were away.

"He's got his two besties here," Savannah Guthrie said as she introduced Craig, Dylan and Carson.

"If you have a charity event and you put 'Bottom's Up' on the invite, I'm here!" Carson joked of his attendance.

Additionally, Craig had the support of his on-air family during a concert he and his wife hosted on the night before, Sunday, Sept. 24, which was attended by many of their co-stars, including Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones, with performances by Darius Rucker, Thomas McClary and The Voice stars Ray Boudreux and Preston Pohl.

The news anchor later revealed that they ultimately raised a whopping 1.2 million dollars for the charity at the "party with a purpose," and that the "highlight was late night karaoke." He also expressed gratefulness that so many people came out to support the cause, and even shared that travel company Expedia pledged they would raise more money to help patients transit to treatment.
