'Today' Host Dances on Stage With Janet Jackson as a Backup Dancer

The TV personality is officially a member of Rhythm Nation.

A dream realized!

Sheinelle Jones experienced a once-in-a-lifetime moment when she danced backup on stage with the one and only Janet Jackson.

Back in October, Jones dressed up as the legendary singer-dancer, putting on a high-spirited presentation during Today's Halloween broadcast, and got the surprise of her life after meeting her inspiration on the show last year.

The Today host and lifelong fan of the "Rhythm Nation" artist was personally invited to participate in the opening weekend of Jackson's Together Again Tour, where she even joined the pop culture icon's performance as a backup dancer.

On Instagram, Today showed support for Jones, uploading a video recap of the event on April 17. The post was captioned: "An absolute SLAY. 🖤 After meeting her idol, Janet Jackson on TODAY last year, Sheinelle got a special invite to join Janet on stage as one of her backup dancers. 'If this is a dream, please don't wake me,' Sheinelle joked on Monday morning. Sounds like dreams do come true!"

The broadcast journalist promptly replied in the comments, writing, "SURREAL!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Fans were overwhelmed with excitement for the 44-year-old, as social media users sent endless well wishes her way.

"Your passion and energy moves mountains! You are a force for good. We were all cheering for you! And feeling so excited to see you shine!" one said, as a second wrote, "I legit teared up for @sheinelle_o — she crushed and you could tell she had a pure moment of joy. ❤️"

"You were great! Your next job!" a third suggested, while a fourth concurred, "You rocked it!!"

"I had all the good feels and tears watching Sheinelle with Janet Jackson 🙌❤️😍," one applauded, and someone else theorized: "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️you guys are totally BFF’s now!!! 👯‍♀️"

Another beamed with pride: "Sheinelle, I am so happy for you and so proud of you. You were simply awesome. You were so calm. If you were nervous, gurl [sic] it didn’t show. You rocked it!!! I know you are on cloud 1000. Enjoy! 👏"
