West Virginia Ski Resort Resumes Snowmaking As Temps Drop

Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia reports that they are still pumping out snow and good times here at 4,848ft.

Even better, if you hold a pass to any resort that has already closed for the season, Showshoe will get you 25% off lift tickets at their mountain.

In addition to discounted tickets, kids 12 and under ski free the whole last week of the season, which is March 25-31th.

Snowshoe's daily message was extremely upbeat yesterday, reading, "what a difference a good 50-hour snowmaking window makes!"

"We were able to beef up the base and re-surface the vast majority of our open terrain. Evolution Park is still open with a fun, flowy setup."

Currently, one out of four of their normal parks are open.

"The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory for our area today, which could impact operations for our high-speed lifts. Download the Snowshoe app for the most up-to-date lift and trail status. With Soaring Eagle on wind hold, Upper Flume is open for Basin access only."

Besides the wind, Snowshoe a 34 inch base of snow, and has seen 86 inches of snowfall so far this season.

Get your turns in now, because after the wind, the resort's weather forecast in calling for rain on Saturday.

Snowshoe is closing for the season on March 31st.
