Watch Andrew Cotton Handle a Brutal Wipeout Surfing Massive Mullaghmore

There's been a lot of mind-blowing wipeout footage lately.

In October, we saw terrifying footage of big wave surfer and superwaterman Kai Lenny getting eaten alive in a giant barrel at Jaws. Shortly after, WSL commentator Strider Wasilewski got a huge barrel at Pipeline that left him with a broken eardrum.

More recently, Nathan Florence had a brutal session at enormous Mullaghmore Head in Ireland. He lived to tell the story of surviving "absolute annihilation" and "getting ripped apart in boiling 25-foot slabs."

But it's big wave surfer Andrew "Cotty" Cotton who gets to claim the latest insane wipeout. From what we can tell, it's from the same Mullaghmore session that had Florence questioning his mortality.

Cotty captioned the post above today and captioned it:

"IS THIS IT?"

The clip shows Cotty going backside on a giant, barreling, bomb.

He looks like he's got it but almost falls back for a second. He then pulls it together, looking solid.

But then before you know it, it's over.

Cotty falls forward looking like he's doing a cartwheel. He lands on his head, legs in the air, and disappears. We can only guess he got pulled up into the lip and slammed down into oblivion.

It's no surprise he thought that was "it."

In the comments, he wrote:

"Win some lose some"

Despite the beatings we just witnessed, Cotty is definitely winning. For years he kept his day job as a plumber while chasing big waves around the UK.

Today, he's recognized worldwide as one of the best big wave surfers, charging mental waves with the best of 'em.
