The North Shore's Nathan Florence has been on a roll.

In October, the big wave surfer won Surfer of the Year and Ride of the Year at the inaugural Big Wave Challenge awards held at the end of October in Nazaré, Portugal.

He's been charging huge waves around the world all year long on his Slab Tour, from barrels in South Africa to an early-season massive swell home on Oahu. The guy just isn't stopping and is still on the road chasing slabs.

In his latest vlog that dropped today, Florence revisits Ireland's Mullaghmore Head where he caught the wave that earned the Ride of the Year award.

Florence captioned the edit above:

"Mullaghmore Goes XXL The Insane Rides, Barrels, and Beatdown of Nove. 9th 2023."

At the start of the video, Florence is gearing up at the house with flotation, a full suit and hood, and an 8'5 and a 7'0.

He ends up sharing the lineup with big wave surfers Conor Maguire, Andrew Cotton, Lucas Chumbo, and Nic von Rupp.

Post-session, someone behind the camera says:

"He makes it back in one piece."

Florence replies:

"Barely. Absolute annihilation. First wave, all confident, huge step in the drop, over the falls, impacted and got so violently impacted. It felt like I was just getting ripped apart."

Later, Florence recalls getting "so smoked" in the "crazy session" in "boiling 25-foot slabs."

Heavy.

In the comments section, he wrote:

"Pinned by Nathan Florence @NathanFlorence 1 hour ago Another mega slab day in the books! Possibly the pinnacle of Slab Tour 2023?

"It's not over yet to be determined! Still sore from the violence of that first big wipeout what a day with good people and incredible waves! Love to Ireland!

"Thanks for watching friends! Hyped be in one piece! Nothing quite like a giant heaving wave like Mullagmore in the cold and dark truly incredible!"
