Video Doorbell Company Ring Giving Away $1 Million for 'Authentic' Extraterrestrial Encounters Caught on Its Devices

Ring, the video doorbell manufacturer, just launched its Million Dollar Search for Extraterrestrials competition. The company is offering a $1,000,000 prize for one lucky consumer who happens to capture “unaltered” alien phenomena from their security device.

From now through November 3, Ring users 18 years and older in the U.S. can submit their footage for a chance at winning a seven-figure payday. It’s worth repeating that the million dollar prize is going to videos which feature “unaltered scientific evidence of a real extraterrestrial lifeform.”

In its official rules, the company defines an extraterrestrial as “any life in the universe originating or occurring outside Earth or its atmosphere. The Extraterrestrial must take up physical space in order to be perceived by humans or cameras and have sufficient technology to be capable of traveling to and surviving within Earth’s atmosphere.” Videos should be a maximum of one minute long and not include “the use of computer graphics, digital effects and/or other artificial elements.”

All of the entries will be evaluated by a “space and extraterrestrial expert.” If they are convinced the footage meets the scientific criteria to qualify as an alien life form, the prize could be yours. In addition to the cash, Ring promises that the winner will be “forever remembered as a key researcher in the space community.”

If you don’t think you can catch any alien action in the next month, Ring is also offering a prize for the most creative interpretation of an alien visit. The reward for its “Out of this World” competition is significantly smaller (it comes in the form of a $500 Amazon gift card), but the task is decidedly easier to pull off.

According to Ring: “Out of this World prize submissions will be judged based on creativity, humor, [and] engagement with a Ring device. Alien costumes and accessories, homemade spacecrafts, and Extraterrestrial-inspired communication with your Ring device are highly encouraged for the submissions.”

The company's doorbell cameras have been involved in a number of so-called alien sightings lately, including a green fireball recently seen in Louisiana, which turned out to be meteor.

If you’ve always dreamt of going into the alien-busting business but didn’t know where to start, there’s no time like the present.
