“Non-human” corpses allegedly belonging to aliens have been displayed for Mexico’s congress as part of a testimony made by a so-called UFO expert. Jaime Maussan, the journalist and ufologist who organized the press conference, was forced to testify about the discovery under oath to the Mexican congress. His history with the truth, however, is rocky.

The two bodies were uncovered in Cusco, Peru, and presented Wednesday in Mexico City. Maussan claimed in his testimony that the mummified remains were over 1,000 years old; that at least one-third of the DNA remains of “unknown” origin; and that the beings are definitely not from “our terrestrial evolution.” The cadavers stand only a few feet tall, and are shown to have elongated heads, not dissimilar to E.T. or other Hollywood depictions of aliens, with three fingers on each hand.

“These aren’t beings that were found after a UFO wreckage,” Maussan reported to the assembled press. “They were found in diatom (algae) mines, and were later fossilized.”

It’s vital to note that Maussan has a patchy record with success in his field. In 2017, the ufologist announced that five bodies, also found in Peru, were alien beings. It was later determined they were the remains of small children. These most recent claims have not been verified.

According to Maussan, the newly found bodies were examined by scientists at the Autonomous National University of Mexico, who used radiocarbon dating to mine what DNA evidence they could. He then presented X-rays which had been taken of the beings and testified that he had personally seen eggs inside of one, while both had odd metal implants made of rare metals like osmium.

Users on X were not so convinced of the findings. “Look like somebody made that in art class,” commented one user. “TBH looks like you just got that off TEMU,” another joked, referring to the discount store, while someone suggested: “Let’s see if there’s candy inside.”

Whether or not Maussan’s claims are factual, his discovery has stoked the increasing public discourse around alien phenomena and ensured more press for at least another week.
