Tom Hardy’s next outing as the Lethal Protector may be his final, as Venom 3’s new title suggests. The film, which will mark Hardy’s first appearance as Eddy Brock after the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home, is now titled Venom: The Last Dance. Alongside the new title, the film also has a new release date - October 25, 2024.

The news has been confirmed by Variety, and yes, the film has been moved up by two weeks as it was previously scheduled to be released on November 8. This comes after the film was first delayed from its July 2024 release due to production halting during the SAG-AFTRA strikes.

This decreases the gap between it and Sony’s other comic book movie, Kraven: The Last Hunter, which is scheduled to come out on August 30, 2024. While not explicitly confirmed, Kraven will take place within Sony's Spider-Man universe, which includes the three Venom movies, Morbius, and the much-maligned Madame Web.

The film's plot details are still being kept under wraps, although we should be seeing a new logo for the film. It's a little awkward as Sony recently shared an official logo for Venom 3 at CES earlier this year, although adding a subtitle to the film was expected.

Venom's third outing is being helmed by first-time feature director Kelly Marcel, from a screenplay and story written by her and Hardy. This will make her the third director to tackle the Venom franchise after the previous two were helmed by Ruben Fleischer and Andry Serkis respectively.

The third film adds Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Clark Backo to the cast, and may feature Toxin as a villain. Whatever the case may be, you can say goodbye to the idea of Venom meeting Spider-Man in the film, as Marvel Studios is still working with Sony to iron out the story for Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4.

Together, the Venom films have grossed over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office, although critical reception has been largely mixed. Nevertheless, the films enjoy a cult status among moviegoers, which may be ironic, has worked wonders for it commercially.
