Every Superhero Film Coming In 2024

Superhero films are great, often bringing action-packed fights, drama, and some slick-looking super suits for fans to marvel at. And it’s not just Marvel, DC has some pretty good films too, especially if they’re not part of the greater DC Universe — though that’s set to be rebooted soon under the leadership of James Gunn.
2024 is looking to be a fairly light year for superhero films, with only one production in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and only one film set in the DC universe at all. That’s definitely subject to change, but if anything it’s likely to go down rather than up, since we usually know about films well in advance. Most of the superhero action is going on in the TV realm this year, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t films to talk about.
This article will cover every superhero movie coming out in 2024, including all the upcoming Marvel films and the upcoming DC films, with release dates for all of them.
Upcoming Marvel Films 2024
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is very much slowing down when it comes to films in 2024, after a bit of drama behind the scenes caused Disney to take stock and change course a bit. Marvel’s intellectual property isn’t staying dormant, though, with some street-level superhero stuff happening on the TV side of the MCU, and of course Sony’s expanded Spider-Man universe – often called the SSU – which kicked off with Venom back in 2018.
Here’s every Marvel movie coming in 2024:
Madame Web – February 14, 2024
Madame Web is the first superhero film to hit theaters in 2024, starring Dakota Johnson as the eponymous Cassie Webb, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Conner, and Isebela Merced as potential future Spider-Women, and Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims, a villainous Spider-Man-ish character. The film received some backlash from its earlier trailer, but it looked better in subsequent showings.
Madame Web will be released on February 14, 2024.
Deadpool 3 – July 26, 2024
Deadpool 3 is the only MCU film coming in 2024, and even then it’s very much an edge case. The film sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, as well as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The two will walk through the history of Marvel movies, MCU and otherwise, and with Brianna Hildebrand coming back as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Jennifer Garner reprising her role as Elektra, from the 2003 Daredevil and the subsequent Elektra film — nearly 20 years after the latter. Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated film in the MCU.

Kraven the Hunter – August 30, 2024
And here we go, back to the SSU (gosh that’s a silly name, there’s not even a Spider-Man in Sony’s universe). Kraven the Hunter is a popular and long-running Spider-Man villain, and now we’re getting a movie about him. Another popular Spider-Man villain, Rhino, is also set to make an appearance, along with Chameleon, a less-popular Spidey villain. All these villains and no Spider-Person to be seen — it’s a weird choice, but Venom did well enough to get a third film, so something must be working for Sony.
Kraven the Hunter will be released on August 30, 2024.
Venom 3 – November 8, 2024
Hey, speaking of Venom, this is the film to round out the trilogy. Tom Hardy is back as Eddie Brock and Venom, with Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple and 12 Years a Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the film in unspecified roles. The previous two Venom films were pretty good, and this should be no different.

Upcoming DC Films 2024
DC’s film slate is in a transitional state at the moment, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom being the last vestige of the largely failed DCEU. It’ll be a little while before James Gunn gets the new DCU off the ground, but there’s still some smaller stuff going on in the TV realm and Elseworlds stories being told on the big screen.
Joker: Folie à Deux – October 4, 2024
Todd Phillips’ Joker film was a surprising smash hit, with Joaquin Phoenix really delivering on the origin story nobody knew they needed. Joining Phoenix in this new film is Lady Gaga, who’ll be stepping into the role as Harley Quinn in what’s sure to be an interesting twist on the character.
Joker: Folie à Deux will be released on October 4, 2024.
