Under Armour & The Museum Pay Tribute to D.C. Culture

Sneakerheads are in for a treat on Saturday, April 20. Under Armour and Washington D.C. black-owned streetwear brand, The Museum, will introduce two exclusive colorways of the UA Forge 96 sneakers inspired by vibrant D.C. culture.

Museum has long been recognized as the pinnacle of D.C. streetwear, as seen on athletes such as Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, John Wall, and most recently, Stephen Curry through their Museum x Curry Brand Collab. To help unveil the exciting collaboration, Museum tapped local artist Mike Taylor (@terabytemike) to shoot the footage for the promo video.

Co-founders LeGreg Harrison and Muhammed Hill, who were brought together by a common thread, the D.C. Metro, have expressed that "shoes are more than footwear; they are a symbol of unity, shared destinies, and connecting us through color, style, and purpose."

As Under Armour continues making strides in the world of sneaker culture, the co-designed collections aim to honor and unite both D.C. style and culture, where connections are forged.

This month’s collaboration between Under Armour and Museum was sparked by a 2018 Instagram post from Muhammad, who posted that he hoped to one day collaborate on a Museum version of the Forge, so it’s been fated for some time.

Museum x UA Forge 96 (Transit) - $150

Rightfully titled “Transit” - the first of the two colorways pays homage to the D.C. Metro and the strong community it fosters. This design features unique stitching representing each color of the D.C. Metro lines, which embodies the connectedness and sense of pride within the city.

Museum x UA Forge 96 (Chair) - $200

The second colorway takes cues from the iconic Museum reupholstered couch, which has become a well-recognized centerpiece for visitors at their brick-and-mortar stores, including notable rappers like Travis Scott and Wale. This design features bold patterns and vibrant colors that encourage self-expression through personal style.

A limited run of the Museum x UA Forge 96 sneakers will be available for purchase exclusively at Museum locations starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Stay locked into Men's Journal Sneakers for all your footwear news.
