Travis Kelce had quite a weekend, with his merch sales and overall public interest skyrocketing after his very public date with Taylor Swift at Sunday’s game. It’s a moment the internet has appropriately dubbed “The Swift Effect.”

After the "Cruel Summer" singer made an unforgettable impression at the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears, her new beau saw a marked increase in his popularity. Over the last 24 hours, Kelce “saw a nearly 400 [percent] spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com,” a spokesperson for Fanatics confirmed to The Associated Press.

His is now one of the top five best-selling jerseys in the NFL. Kelce's domination didn't stop there, however. He proceeded to gain over 300,000 additional followers on social media, no doubt led by Swifties recently converted to the sport.

The streak also extended to the field, where Kelce performed rigorously while Swift cheered alongside his mother in a VIP box. He made seven catches over a total of 69 yards and nailed an epic touchdown, which sent his paramour screaming for joy.

Swift’s appearance at the game was as unbelievable for fellow Chiefs players as it was for spectators at home. QB Patrick Mahomes told reporters he wasn’t sure Kelce was serious: “There’s some things with Trav where he kinda just says it and you don’t know if it’s true or not. He says it so calmly.” Meanwhile, coach Andy Reid cracked: “I set them up!”

Kelce and Swift were seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium after the game decked out in each other’s merch. As the night went on, they were spotted at a variety of Kansas City hotspots.
