Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott were spotted chatting together this week in a park in Los Angeles County following a tumultuous year for the former couple.

McDermott, 57, announced on social media in June 2023 that he and the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress were separating 17 years into their marriage. Both Spelling, 50, and McDermott have since been spotted holding hands with or kissing other individuals, sparking rumors that they were dating other people.

More than eight months after McDermott’s separation announcement, the former Chopped Canada host was photographed having a conversation with Spelling on Feb. 28 in Agoura Hills, Calif., according to Page Six. Their reunion marks the first time that Spelling and McDermott, who share five children, have been seen together in months.

In photos posted online, McDermott and Spelling talked with each other. They appeared to be taking their conversation very seriously, with none of the shared photos showing either individual smiling or laughing.

Spelling and McDermott first met in 2005 while filming the Lifetime movie Mind Over Murder. Both individuals, who were married at the time, separated from their former spouses before marrying each other in 2006. Spelling and McDermott had their first child less than a year later.

A few months after publicly sharing he and Spelling were separating, McDermott told the Daily Mail that he was battling substance abuse issues. McDermott explained that he and Spelling began drifting away from each other several years ago, and that he was ultimately “taking accountability” for the problems in their marriage.

"All Tori's ever done to this day is want me to be happy and healthy and I inflicted a lot of damage and pain on that woman," McDermott said in the November 2023 interview. "I'm taking accountability for that today, and it's the biggest amend that I'm ever going to have to make."
