Toddler Has the Most Innocent Reaction to Seeing Newborn Great Dane Puppy

The relationship between your young kids and your dog is so special. Especially if you have puppy. Then it's basically like they're growing up together. Just take one toddler who recently saw his dog Daphne's newborn puppy for the first time. It's almost like he can sense they're going to be besties for life.

Shared by mom Daphne, the adorable clip shows Noah taking in the newest additions to their family.

"My toddler's reaction to seeing a newborn puppy," his mom wrote in the video's text overlay.

The clip shows Noah walking along the enclosure where Daphne was resting after giving birth.

"Oh!" he exclaimed when he saw the puppy, who the family has since named Zazu — you know, like the Toucan from The Lion King?

"Puppy!" he cried. He was so darn excited.

"Puppy!" his mom agreed from behind-the-camera. "Noah seeing little Zazu for the first time. Such a special experience for my little dog lover," the mom wrote in the caption.

Noah already had a special relationship with Zazu's mama. As a separate video on TikTok shows.

The video shows Noah practically sprinting to see Daphne. And it seems like this is something that happens every morning for them too.

"His excitement for seeing his sister every morning just warms my heart," the mom wrote in the caption.

Tips for Introducing Puppies to Children

It's totally normal to be nervous about your kids meeting new animals for the first time. But making that moment magical is totally possible. You'll want to start things off right by talking to your kids about how to approach the puppy first. Make sure your kids know to be gentle when petting the new pup and understand boundaries.

Kids might want to treat your puppy like a teddy bear or stuffed animal. They are small and cute after all. But it's important not to let them hug or squeeze new pups too hard. Show them how to be quiet and careful around puppies too.

Try and read the dog's body language. Yawning, licking their lips or nose, showing the whites of their eyes, holding their ears back, and looking away from the child approaching are all signs that your dog is anxious and you should probably not let your child near.

Commenters were absolutely smitten with Noah and Zazu's budding relationship. "Pure JOY in his voice," one person gushed. "I'm dead," another person joked. "Beautiful," a third person praised.

Looks like the start of a beautiful relationship to us.
