Tiktoker Reveals Secret, Discounted ‘Dinner Box’ Option on McDonald’s Menu

Amid rising prices that have seen McDonald’s pledge to be more affordable in 2024, an eagle-eyed TikToker has revealed the chain’s wildly discounted “dinner box” deal.

On March 12, Texas resident Leiela Kapewa-Latu posted a video of herself, her partner, and their three children at the drive-thru of an unidentified McDonald’s location in the Lone Star State. After asking the server, with some trepidation, whether the chain offers “a dinner box,” Kapewa-Latu seems somewhat surprised when the employee offers no resistance, instead asking which sauces she’d like.

The video then cuts to the influencer at home, unpacking her bounty. Kapewa-Latu reveals that for the low price of just $12, she received two Cheeseburgers; two Big Macs; four small French fries; and a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, with two Sweet ‘N Sour sauces on the side.

ABC News reported that the $12 price tag is less than half of what the same items would cost if ordered á la carte, which would have run the family $26.71. The price of a dinner box is a steep discount for the chain, as their regular Big Mac meals—which include a sandwich, fries, and drink—have risen to nearly $20 at most locations.

Users flooded the comments, a great deal of them commiserating that they’d never heard of such a deal at McDonald’s. Some, however, noted that they were well aware of the dinner box and weighed in with local variations.

“The Bundle Box [in] Las Vegas comes with two Big Macs, two Cheeseburgers, 10-piece [Chicken] Nuggets, [and] 2 medium fries [for] $14.99,” wrote user Jenzen.

“Texas has the NFL bundle,” a commenter named Vanessa claimed. She said the deal features “four Cheeseburgers, four Hot ‘N Spicy Burgers, 20-piece Nuggets, and two large fries for $20.”

But the $12 Kapewa-Latu paid in Texas might not be the price in every territory. The Lone Star State is home to the lowest-priced McDonald’s in the country, with customers at that location paying 9.58 percent less than the national average.

"The California variation is called the Classic Big Mac Pack and it’s $28," one user offered. According to other commenters, prices for the box vary from $27 in Pennsylvania to $25 in New Jersey, and $18 in Mississippi.

Those hoping to order the McDonald’s dinner box might have the best luck purchasing in-store, as some commenters claimed they couldn’t find the deal on their app. In a follow-up post, Kapewa-Latu said the bargain could be found by navigating to the “Shareables” page on the menu, which will display the bulk deals at the specific location from which you’re ordering.

Even if they don’t have the exact dinner box you’re looking for, you’re sure to find something of interest in the “Shareable” deals.
