Thousands of tulips in bloom at Hershey Gardens

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — Spring is in the air at Hershey Gardens and it’s time for the annual tulip display.

27,000 tulips are at peak bloom right now at the gardens, which means this is the time to go check them out.

The tulips were planted back in October, and this is one of the garden’s most highly anticipated events.

Weather permitting, the bloom will last between seven and 10 days.

“What makes us unique is we’re the biggest tulip display locally. We’ve been doing this since 1942, it’s one of the most well-known in the area. Definitely something everyone enjoys seeing year after year,” Alyssa Hagarman, horticulture manager at Hershey Gardens said.

There are 47 different varieties of tulips on display and 12 of them are brand new this year.

Hershey Gardens is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
