Social 22-Pound Shelter Cat Who Loves Kids Is Searching for His Perfect Home in Florida

Across the globe, there are millions of cats, dogs, and other domestic animals looking for their perfect homes. Shelters are getting more and more crowded, and it's becoming harder than ever to help pets find their forever. But there are so many rescue advocates and shelter volunteers who will never give up on the animals who need them the most!

The folks at the Humane Society of Broward County in Florida are known for using social media to help potential adopters fall in love, and their strategy is working! Many of their superstar pets go viral, including this charmingly chunky cat named JJ. He weighs in at a whopping 22 pounds, but his 'fluffiness' isn't the only thing to love about this friendly white and tabby cat.

OMG--what a cutie pie! This sweet shelter cat definitely catches the eye thanks to his massive size, but those peridot-green eyes and friendly feline nudges could make anyone fall under his spell. His human friends at @humanebroward certainly love him, so it's only a matter of time before someone else loves him, too. We know we sure do!

"I love him!" confirms commenter @driveraart. "I've spent time with JJ and can tell you he is a SWEET lump of pure LOVE!" That's the most precious thing we've ever heard! This shelter cat's affinity for children is definitely a green flag, especially because he would make an excellent family cat.

Whoever does adopt this big boy should check in with a veterinarian to make sure his excess weight isn't impacting his health. Even if this rescue cat gets the thumbs up, though, his forever owner will want to help this rescue cat lose a few pounds to ensure they have many, many years together!
