If there's anyone who knows what it means to be a Swiftie, it's Selena Gomez.

The "Single Soon" songstress proved that she is Taylor Swift's No. 1 fan during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday, Sept. 12. How? Well, she showed her bestie nothing but support after Swift took home her first prize of the night.

While Swift, 33, was on stage to deliver an acceptance speech for winning Best Pop Video for her song "Anti-Hero," Gomez proudly got up on her feet to support her friend.

In a clip of the moment shared to X (formerly Twitter), the 31-year-old singer and actress could be seen giving Swift a standing ovation, and even giggling along to some of the jokes the "Karma" artist made during her speech.

"Everyone needs a bff like this," one user wrote online in response to the sweet friend moment, while someone else called the Only Murders in the Building star "a true friend."

"MOTHERS," another user replied to the clip.

"their friendship >>>>," someone else chimed in.

Swift brought a similar supportive energy into the awards show, as she was seen dancing and cheering for many other artists, including Demi Lovato and Cardi B.

Swift and Gomez were both among the nominees for Song of the Year for Swift's "Anti-Hero" and Gomez' "Calm Down" with Rema, though the "Bejeweled" singer was ultimately crowned the winner.

That wasn't necessarily surprising, thought, as Swift was the most-nominated artist heading into Tuesday's awards show. Swift earned eight nominations in total this year, including recognition for Best Pop Video, Artist of the Year and Video of the Year.
