Cardi B Looks Ready for Battle in Body-Hugging Metallic Gown

Cardi B's 2023 MTV Video Music Awards look was both beautiful and dangerous, with her dress made out of a surprising material.
The 30-year-old arrived at the show with her husband, Offset, by her side, but all eyes were on the rapper as she stood in a silver strapless dress with matching wrist cuffs. Her hair was parted down the middle and flowed straight down her back.
Cardi B's Dilara Findikoglu dress featured hundreds of hair clips, with a few different varieties, placed in various patterns and swirls. It's unclear how heavy the dress was, but it definitely looked like an armor of sorts, as if the rapper was heading to war.
The dress was a custom creation, with the designer making a floor-length version of the original mini dress.

The response to the dress from fans was mixed. One shared their review, writing, "Not trynna be biased. I see the vision but the clips make its look like she’s wearing aluminum foil.. it’s a chop."
Another fan replied, "she looks good but kinda like she's a giant magnet and all the metal scraps in the world got stuck onto her."
On the other end of the spectrum, there were plenty who immediately loved the look, with responses like, "OMGGGGGG WOOWWWWW SHE ALWAYS EATS" and "Cardi B is a baddie and won the carpet tonight!"
Cardi B walked into the awards ceremony with one nomination for her song “Tomorrow 2” with GloRilla, under the Best Hip-Hop category. Other nominees for the 2023 MTV VMAs included Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.
