Selena Gomez is doing her best to "Calm Down" fans after videos of her reactions to two other VMA nominees went viral.

After the facial expression the 31-year-old made in response to Chris Brown's nomination at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards went viral overnight, the "Single Soon" songstress clapped back at critics with one simple comment.

"Who cares lol," she wrote in response to a clip of the moment, which caught the Only Murders in the Building actress sitting in the audience at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12, when the rapper's name was called.

The "Kiss Kiss" singer, who is also known for his controversial past that includes assault charges and a court-ordered domestic violence class, was nominated for Best R&B Video for he and Chloe Bailey's "How Does It Feel."

During the same awards show, viewers thought they caught Gomez in another compromising moment, as she covered her ears as Olivia Rodrigo performed at the VMAs, during which the "bad idea right?" songstress masterfully made her set look like it was about to malfunction–a callback to her hit "Vampire" music video.

"I heard a loud noise and it scared me," Gomez clarified online.

The former Disney Channel star later took to her Instagram Story, clapping back at the critics trying to stir up drama. "I will never be a meme again," she wrote. "I’d rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love."

Despite asking for no memes, she set herself up for one after poking fun at a pic of herself and her BFF, Taylor Swift, in the audience. "She looks stunning, I look constipated," she joked.

Drama aside, it was a pretty big night for Gomez, who took home the first-ever MTV Video Music Award for Best Afrobeats for her song "Calm Down" with Rema.
