Billy Ray Cyrus is going back to his country roots!
The 62-year-old "Achy Breaky Heart" singer was joined by his fiancée Firerose on the stage of the ACM Honors, which aired on FOX last night, where he covered one of the late singer-songwriter Charlie Daniels' most popular tunes: "Long Haired Country Boy."
The track, which was originally released by Daniels in 1974 on his fifth studio album Fire on the Mountain, got the Cyrus treatment on stage and developed more of a pop sound, whereas Daniels' was a little more jazzy with it–he was a fiddling legend, after all.

The couple of country stars were also joined on stage by "Buy A Girl A Drink" singer Travis Denning.
Cyrus and Firerose shared another clip of their performance with a joint Instagram post, which caught fellow country stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw rocking out in their seats.
"No wonder they call it 'Country Music’s Favorite Night!!!' 🎶 #ACMhonors," the twosome quipped in the caption.
Cyrus and Firerose, 34, previously made headlines for their extremely laid-back look on the ACM Honors red carpet. When the pair arrived at the event–which was held in Nashville on Aug. 22 but only aired to the public on Monday, Sept. 18–Cyrus' hair was parted to the sides of his head in two messy braids, just as seen in the video.
Though, now that we know what song they performed at the show, it all seems to make a little more sense.
The duo, who first met on the set of Hannah Montana 12 years ago, began working on music together at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and their relationship eventually morphed into more. They reportedly were engaged last August, but didn't go public with it until that fall.
In Nov. 2022, Cyrus shared of photo of his new fiancée proudly showing off her stunning engagement ring.
The news came about seven months after Cyrus and his ex-wife Tish filed for divorce for the third time. The former pair share five kids including pop star Miley, 22-year-old Noah Cyrus, 33-year-old Trace Cyrus, 35-year-old Brandi Cyrus, and 28-year-old Braison Cyrus.
