Second CosMc's Location Opens Months After Inaugural Store Debut

For much of the past year, McDonald's has been working to get its new beverage-only concept CosMc's off the ground. In December 2023, the first CosMc's location opened in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, causing long lines on its first day and a clamoring for more locations nationwide.

McDonald's plans to open 10 CosMc's locations in 2024, according to USA Today, and its second location is now finally open to customers in Texas. The new store opened March 19 in Dallas and comes with even more options than initially offered at the inaugural location. On top of a varied menu with an array of customizable drinks and snacks, customers at the new Dallas CosMc's will have the option of two new drinks.

The Beach Protein Frappe is a mixture of ice, banana-flavored protein frappe base, and banana flambé syrup, while the Melon Herb Chiller consists of a lemon and watermelon mint base poured over ice for a twist on classic CosMc's lemonade.

Some customers couldn't wait to get their hands on a CosMc's drink and shared their experiences on social media.

"I’m having my first CosMc's beverage: a medium Tropical Spiceade ($4.99) with Popping Mango Boba (99 cents)," one person wrote, adding "Those exploding boba are FANTASTIC."

"This CosMc's drink is so delicious!" another Dallas diner said, similarly noting "The exploding boba are EVERYTHING!"

Texas is a big state, so it's only a natural location for the fast food giant to expand its CosMc's footprint. Approximately nine more test locations are expected to pop up in the Dallas–Fort Worth and San Antonio areas in the next few months, per USA Today. That's a lot of options to beat the so-called "3 p.m. slump."
