Rescue Labrador's Reaction to His Family Singing 'Happy Birthday' to Him Has Everyone in Tears
One of the most beautiful things about being human is that every person has their own unique experience, but one thing just about everyone can agree on is how awkward it is to be sung 'Happy Birthday'. What am I supposed to do while everyone is singing? Am I supposed to make eye contact with everyone, or should I look at the cake?
As it turns out, even dogs feel a bit confused when hearing the infamous birthday song. Especially on a pup's first birthday--it's a whole new experience! It's even more complicated when there's a delicious birthday treat around, too.
Rex the Chocolate Labrador just turned one on September 5, and he was such a good boy when he was presented with his special cupcake. Of course, he also heard 'Happy Birthday' for the very first time--and his reaction is too sweet!

What a good boy! @R3xdog is noticeably confused by his family's full attention, but he seems to be enjoying it nonetheless. After all--he is a Labrador Retriever, and his breed is known for friendliness and affection!
This sweet dog may only be one year old, but he's already endured a lot in his short life. He was born with a deformity in one of his front legs and then was neglected by his breeder as a puppy. Thank goodness he was rescued and found by a family who loves him for exactly who he is!
It's clear that Rex makes his family incredibly happy--just look at this dog's birthday party--but his sad start is exactly the reason why breeding is becoming so unethical. It's hard to know for sure, but his deformity could be a consequence of reckless breeding. But the way his breeder treated him because of his difference is unacceptable.
