All The Recent Crib Recalls Recalled Mattresses Toddler Bed
Following the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) Safe Sleep Practices is something we feel incredibly passionate about here at SheKnows. Among other things, the AAP recommends that caregivers place babies on firm surfaces, on their backs, and alone in cribs (no stuffed animals or blankets!) to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Another way to help keep your kids safe when they’re sleeping is to make sure their sleep environment is safe. Each year, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and baby product companies recall cribs, mattresses, and toddler beds that fail to meet safety standards or have defects that pose risks to children.
With all recalled products, the recommendation is for consumers to stop using them immediately. And when it comes to big products like mattresses that have big risks, buyers may even be asked to cut them up to prevent future usage before being given a refund.
It’s important to note that just because a crib from Pottery Barn is recalled, for instance, that doesn’t mean all Pottery Barn products are unsafe. It doesn’t even mean all of those cribs are unsafe. It might just be one specific “batch” that has a problem. Parents and caregivers can find out which exact models are recalled on the CPSC website and in our list below along with what to do if they have a recalled product.

Crate & Barrel Hampshire Cribs
Crate & Barrel recalled the Hampshire Cribs — available in five colors — in April 2024 when it was found that they could pose a fall hazard. The support pins for the mattress could become loose, causing the mattress to fall.
Consumers can choose from either a refund or a free repair kit. The retailer is contacting known purchasers but consumers can also call 800-967-6696 or visit https://www.crateandbarrel.com/customer-service/product-recalls for more information.
Zazaba International Grão de Gente Baby Nests
Multiple versions of the Zazaba International Grão de Gente Baby Nests were recalled in April 2024. All styles (more than 20 SKUs) can be seen HERE.
“The recalled baby nests violate the safety requirements of CPSC’s Safety Standard for Infant Sleep Products, posing a suffocation risk and fall and entrapment hazards to infants,” the CPSC said. “The failures include not having a stand and not meeting the requirements for side height, sleeping pad thickness, and fabric-sided openings. The product’s sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit; the sleeping pad’s thickness exceeds the maximum limit; and an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped.”
The nest designs that include a pillow also violate the Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2021 which bans inclined infant sleepers because their sleep surfaces are inclined greater than ten degrees.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled nests and contact recall@graodegente.com to learn how to dispose of the nest and receive a full refund. Known consumers are being contacted.
Zazaba International Grão de Gente Crib Bumper Bedding Sets
A lot of versions (more than 30 SKUs) of the Grão de Gente Crib Bumper Bedding Sets were recalled in April 2024, so you’ll definitely want to check out the CPSC’s full release to see all the impacted styles. The Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2021 banned padded crib bumpers because infants can suffocate if they roll into a position that obstructs breathing.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bumpers and contact recall@graodegente.com for information on how to dispose of the bumper(s) and receive a full refund. The company is contacting known consumers.
Forias Pack and Play Mattresses
The Forias Pack and Play Mattresses — sold exclusively on Amazon — were recalled in March 2024 for violating multiple safety standards and posing a suffocation hazard. Per the CPSC announcement, consumers should immediately cut the recalled mattress in half and send a photo of the destroyed produc to customer.care@forias.com for a full refund.
Amazon and Forias Direct are contacting known purchasers.
Bubble Bear Crib Mattresses
Several models of Bubble Bear’s crib mattress violated the federal safety regulations and were recalled in March 2024. Shoppers should immediately stop using the mattress, use scissors to cut the top fabric on both sides, and submit photos to coralisland2020@outlook.com to receive a refund and disposal instructions.
Spring Spirit and Biloban Pack and Play Mattresses
Spring Spirit and Biloban recalled their pack and play mattresses in Feb. 2024 because they violated multiple federal safety regulations including the thickness test. It was also missing warnings and labels and could pose a suffocation hazard. See the impacted models of the trifold mattress HERE.
Consumers should contact recall@biloban.com for information on how to destroy and dispose of the mattress and to secure a refund.
Magik & Kover Pack and Play Mattresses
In Feb. 2024, Magik & Kover recalled these pack and play mattresses because they violated multiple federal safety provisions.
Consumers should email bruandoli@126.com for a refund and to learn how to destroy and dispose of the mattress. The brand and Amazon are contacting purchasers directly.
UBBCARE Play Yard Mattresses
UBBCARE’s play yard mattresses were recalled in Jan. 2024 for violating federal safety regulations and posing a suffocation hazard to infants.
UBBCARE and Amazon are contacting known purchasers directly, but consumers should immediately stop using them. Shoppers should email HBoutdoor-us@outlook.com for a refund and instructions on how to dispose of the recalled product.
Room & Board Griffin Duo Bunk Beds
Room & Board recalled about 500 of their Griffin Duo Bunk Beds in Dec. 2023. See exact models HERE. Some did not have screws properly installed into the side rail brackets at the time of delivery, creating a collapse risk. There were two reports of the bed collapsing at the time of the recall.
Consumers should see if the screws are installed as is shown in the CPSC report linked above.
“If any brackets are missing set screws, a set screw must be installed before the bunk bed is used again,” the commission said. “Room & Board is contacting all purchasers directly with information on how to perform the bunk bed inspection and repair, and is providing free set screw repair kits to consumers upon request…and will send a representative to their home to inspect for and install the set screws as necessary, free of charge.”
Zipadee Kids Convertible House Bed Frames AND Montessori Floor Beds
Zipadee recalled three products in Aug. 2023 including their convertible house bed frames and Montessori floor beds. See all recalled products HERE. The three have spindles spaced at a distance that allows a child’s torso to fit through the rail but not their head.
This a “serious entrapment hazard that can lead to strangulation and/or death to children,” per the CPSC. At least two children — ages 21 months and 4 years old — became entrapped.
Consumers are urged to dispose of the bed(s). This does NOT include donating or reselling them. In fact, it’s a violation of federal law to sell or distribute any recalled products
Zipadee is unable to offer a remedy (such as a refund) to consumers.
Moonsea Pack and Play Mattresses
Around 11 thousand units of Moonsea’s pack and play mattresses were recalled in 2023 for violating the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses.
Consumers should contact service@moonseasleep.com for instructions on how to dispose of the recalled product and receive a refund. Moonseasleep and Amazon are contacting known buyers.
DODO Baby House Pack and Play Mattresses
This DODO Baby House mattress was recalled in Nov. 2023 for violating the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses. It violates the thickness tests, is missing warnings and labels, and poses a suffocation hazard to infants.
Consumers should cut the recalled pack and play mattresses in half and send photos to recallD336@outlook.com for a full refund. DODO Baby House and Amazon are contacting all known buyers.
Beyond Baby Vibe Bear Playyard Mattresses
Different versions of the Vibe Bear playyard mattresses were recalled in late 2023. See the recalled versions HERE and HERE. They violated multiple parts of the Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses, not passing the firmness and thickness tests and missing warnings and labels. They also posed a suffocation hazard.
Consumers should destroy the mattresses by cutting them in half. For a full refund, shoppers should then send photos of the destroyed recalled mattresses to recallguof@outlook.com for a full refund. Beyond Baby, Vibe Bear, and Amazon are contacting known purchasers directly.
Restwell Mattress Room & Board Natural Organic Latex AND Latex and Spring Crib Mattresses
Two Restwell Mattress Room & Board crib mattresses were recalled in Aug. 2023 (see both HERE). The two fail to comply with several provisions laid out by the Federal Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses, including the firmness test. They also are missing warnings and labels.
Restwell Mattress Co. and Room & Board are contacting all known purchasers directly, but consumers can also contact them at shop@roomandboard.com. The company will arrange for pick up at no charge, and will issue a full refund.
Pottery Barn Kids Penny Convertible Cribs
In July 2023, the Pottery Barn Kids Penny Convertible Cribs were recalled because the end panel could become loose. That would expose sharp edges, making it a laceration hazard.
Consumers should immediately stop using the Penny Convertible Cribs and contact Pottery Barn Kids — which is contacting all known buyers —to schedule delivery and installation of new end panels or a full refund.
Walker Edison Furniture Twin Over Twin Bunk Beds
Several models (see all HERE) of the Walker Edison Furniture Twin Over Twin Bunk Beds were recalled in May 2023 because the wooden slats supporting the bunk beds can break, posing fall hazards to those on the top bed and impact hazards to those on the bottom.
The company received 14 reports of broken slats, including one report of minor injuries. Owners should immediately stop using the recalled bunk beds and contact the company (recall@walkeredison.com) for a free repair kit. Walker Edison Furniture is contacting known purchasers directly.
