Pups With ‘Human Names’ at MA Dog Day Care Have People Delighted

Naming dogs with "human names" has become a popular trend that many pet owners and dog care facilities have embraced.

The staff of the doggy day care Park 9 Dog Bar in Everett, Massachusetts, shared a video, posted on November 1, of all the dogs they care for with "human names," and it certainly adds to their personalities. Let's watch it!

The names are quite fitting!

Having dogs with names typically associated with humans can often bring a sense of relatability and humor, which adds to the delight of many, and there are various reasons why dog owners give their dogs "human names," such as Gus or Molly.

Giving a dog a "human name" can help create a closer bond between the pet and the owner. It can also reflect a sense of companionship and familiarity, treating the dog more like a member of the family.

It sure helps build "character."

Looking at Molly, she seems sweet and a little goofy, as a Molly would be, or any Labrador. And Gus just seems old and grumpy, which reminds me of a retired mechanic or handyman.

Right?

I guess, sometimes, giving a dog a "human name" can be done for comedic effect, as it can be amusing to see a pet respond to a name typically associated with people.

I agree.

I think classic names such as Walter or Bernhard have a ring to them. Thinking about this now makes me regret not naming my dog Winnie. My cat, however, has a "human name," which is Max, and it sure fits his mischievous but sweet nature.

As you can see, the reasons for giving dogs "human names" can vary widely and are often a personal choice, and we are all here for it!
