‘Puffapalooza’ will spotlight cannabis in GA. Organizers want it to be annual Macon event

A new festival is coming to town: Puffapalooza is a three-day curated art, culture, and cannabis advocacy festival featuring all things 420 debuting in downtown Macon.

The festival, co-founded by Chelsea Breann and Colin Penndorf, will begin Friday and run through Sunday.

The goal of the festival is to drive tourism to the city by creating an annual festival in Macon that highlights local businesses and provides an educational piece showcasing the changing legal landscape and future of cannabis in Georgia. Some of the state’s most prominent cannabis educators, lobbyists, and advocates will share their knowledge, according to Breann.

“The education and information panels will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday with multiple topics and keynote speakers thrown in between,” she said. “This is aimed at the medical community, law enforcement, business owners and anyone else interested in this changing field.”

“Our panelists are amazing and are coming from across the state to make these talks happen,” Breann added.

Advocates and panelists include Andrea Cooke, Cierra Keaton, Yolonda Bennett, Susan Black, The Cannabis Nurses Network, Dr. Robin Cornell, Scott Pollick, James Elola, Tyler Coke Fine Fettle Medical Cannabis, Omari Anderson and more.

Breann said the inaugural festival will also usher in the brand new, southeast-based USA Hemp Cup competition called The Legends of Green, which will feature and challenge numerous hemp farmers and cultivators from around the country to see whose hemp product is best.

Organizers have advertised the inaugural event as family friendly, saying it has something for everyone, whether it is looking to see local art on the downtown art walk, shopping at a local artisan market, networking at the fine arts gala, enjoying the local restaurants and shops, or taking part in the multi-venue concert crawl, according to Breann.

Breann said there will also be some surprises in store throughout the weekend which will be free to all who attend the festival.

A few of the participating businesses include Pickles Production, Bohemian Den, Fatty’s Pizza, Apparel Authority, Fresh Produce Records, and Harp and Bowl, among others.

Breann said ticket holders will receive entry to all sponsored venues, tailored 420 food deals, drink specials and festival cocktails, live incredible music featuring local and national acts, outdoor activities including arts and crafts activities, family friendly exploration areas, creative storytelling, pertinent advocacy panels, informational sessions, a robust fine artist market, a large maker and crafts fair, comedy shows, and more.

Day passes will be available on-site at marked map locations.

“The goal is to construct a new annual event for Maconites that they would like to attend, and can be proud of, while also offering amenities that will encourage tourists to come to the city and support our local community businesses,” Breann said.
