Pucci Returns to Rome With Psychedelic Prints and Pugs

Pucci's Spring/Summer 2024 collection dubbed "Very Vivara" celebrated the beloved "Vivara" print which returned to the brand with flying colors. Since its origin in 1965, the print has signified Emilio Pucci's love for the Mediterranean Sea and the spirit of a crescent-shaped island near Capri. Creative Director Camille Miceli honed in on organic and geometric shapes for SS24 honoring the optimistic and playful dressing that comes with the spring season.

Where: Held in the Emerald City's palatial Palazzo Altemps, the heritage-packed venue boasted a large courtyard filled with Italian sculptures, greenery and stone benches. Upon entrance, the venue was split into small rooms where guests sat on Pucci-fabric covered sofas.

Who: The show was attended by the families of Italian luxury houses and friends of the brand including Patricia Arquette, Flo Milli and Gunna. As for the runway, Christy Turlington opened the show followed by Eva Herzigova, Mariacarla Boscono and actress Isabella Rossellini. We also can't forget to mention the pug puppy that was carried down the runway dressed in a Pucci scarf and matching leash.

See: Known for it's eye-catching colors and psychedelic prints, the brand's SS24 collection includes three distinct color stories and patterns dubbed "Cigni," "Bersaglio" and "Chiave." Ranging from olive green, cream and khaki to dark plum, crimson red and jet black, the garments effortlessly transition from urban chic to reimagined classics.

Hear: Key motifs included the half moon accessories as well as the brand's signature Pesci and Iride emblems which appear on blouses and jersey dresses. Show guests commented on the playfulness of the details in this collection including tattoo and drop-hole tops, layers of chains and a heavy helping of fringe.

Touch: Alongside the graphic prints, sequins made an appearance this season in the form of dresses, structure bralettes, and bomer jackets. Denim was also launched under the name "Marmo" with swirly patterns and laser-treatment in both blue and charcoal colorways.

Taste: Minimalistic baes step aside, as Pucci's "Very Vivara" is all about optimistic color blending. One of the standout silhouettes that we hope to see more of for SS24 styles was the hooded dress that came in a towel-like material. The beach-to-city garment offers a vivid spectrum of poetic pastels and blue hues.
