The baby bump reveal has come to occupy a rarefied cultural space for pregnant celebrities! Be it a Super Bowl Halftime Show (Rihanna), a Marc Jacobs ad campaign for the gender reveal (Bhad Bhabie), or an underwater photo shoot posted after you already had the kid (Halle Bailey), stars can’t just post mirror selfies anymore. Or you could just host SNL like Keke Palmer! It has to be a production. And of course, walking a red carpet with child is always going to be a classic (Blake Lively).
Will these kids be the next generation of powerful nepo babies, or will they pursue entirely different paths? Only time will tell.
Jenna Dewan’s announcement kicked off a new year of pregnant celebrities with a double reveal: She’s expecting her third child, and this will be her last. Dewan shares one daughter with ex-husband Channing Tatum and a son with her fiancé, Steve Kazee; this will be her second kid with Kazee.
“He’s so naturally domestic and nurturing, and he’s so loving, and he’s funny, and he’s really…he’s just incredible,” she says. “It’s one of those things where people just have a natural ability for parenting. I’m so excited to see him with a little baby again,” she told Romper as part of her pregnancy-announcement interview.
“You don’t race to the end because this is the last time,” she added. “So there’s a bit of joy and a little sadness. I’m really trying to enjoy it all and not try to just get through the days. I really love being a mom…. That’s something I knew my whole life, but I really know it now.”
