Playful Leopard Cub Learns to Jump Just Like a Total Pro

Babies learning to navigate their new world are always fun to watch, and always make me smile. Mave is a leopard cub who recently learned to jump, and he's so excited about his new skill! @xtremeexotics shared an adorable video of Mave in mid-November 2023, and I've watched it more times than I can count because I can't get over the cuteness!

The video starts with Mave nibbling on his paw, much like babies do with their toes. He's looking directly into the camera, and those big brown eyes will just melt you! He then starts rolling around and being silly, before pawing at the camera. He then takes a big leap, and my goodness is it adorable!

Isn't he the cutest? @xtremeexotics says in the caption that Mave recently figured out he's a pretty good jumper and that it's his new favorite party trick. It's definitely a good one, and I can't think of anybody who wouldn't love to watch him do it! He's so playful and reminds me so much of a baby who's learning how to do all kinds of new skills. Once they figure it out, they continue to do it over and over again. It's too sweet!

Commenters left more than a thousand comments about the cute video. @Ari shared, "“Toe beans” *whacks camera with toe beans* LOL adorable"! and xtremeexotics replied, "He knows everyone loves the toe beans lol"! @Maddisong1993 loved, "That Tigger jump at the end!!!" @JGeorgia wondered, "Ok be honest. How many times do you boop that cute little, pink snoot?" I'd be booping all day long!

Do Leopards Make Good Pets?

Do leopards make good pets? Well if you're talking about a leopard tortoise or a leopard gecko, yes. But if you're talking about an actual leopard? No way! These big cats may play like a pet cat, but make no mistake about it, they are wild animals and always will be. While considered in some places to be an exotic pet, living in a cage is not the life for a leopard. Leopards roam and hunt over about a 12-mile radius each day. While it would be possible to feed them a couple of pounds of raw meat each day, they are hunters and would rather find their own food.

It's always fun to see animals at the zoo, but it always makes me a little sad, too. I feel like they'd be happier out in the wild. Rescued animals are a different story, but keeping a wild animal as a pet simply because you can is a big no for me.
