PetMeds Is Giving Away a Year's Worth of Dog Food Plus $1,000 To an Animal Shelter of Your Choice

Calling all you dog parents! PetMeds Express is giving away a year’s worth of free science-led Hill’s Science Diet pet nutrition to three lucky winners. Those three winners will also get to select a pet shelter of their choice to receive a $1,000 credit to petmeds.com.

With so many animal shelters facing overcrowding and a lack of volunteers and resources, this giveaway could be of so much help to your local shelter!

PedMeds is launching the giveaway during Responsible Pet Ownership Month and at a time when shelters nationwide are facing a capacity crisis. For the third consecutive year, shelters had too many animals and not enough adoptions in 2023, a trend that is continuing this year. PedMeds is doing its part to help promote responsible pet ownership by providing top-quality pet food and helping to ease the burden on animal shelters.

The giveaway will be open for entries on petmeds.com between February 16 and March 15, 2024. No purchase is necessary to win. The promotion comes in advance of Hill’s Science Diet products being available through petmeds.com, beginning March 1, 2024.

“We are proud to partner with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to offer Hill’s Science Diet products through petmeds.com,” said Matt Hulett, President and CEO of PetMed Express. “We’re looking forward to giving away a year’s worth of Hill’s Science Diet to our winning pet parents, supporting animal shelters, and to providing our PetMeds® customers with these best-in-class products starting next month.”

How You Can Help Shelter Animals

In addition to make monetary donations to help underfunded and overcrowded animal shelters, there are all sorts of ways you can help the homeless pets in your community.

Ask at your local Humane Society or animal shelter about fostering and volunteer opportunities. Many shelters need people willing to take dogs on walks, or for a run, or for a sleepover to give these pups a chance to get out of their kennel. You can bring with your child to read to pets, offer to help clean kennels or change litter boxes, or simply spend some time giving affection to a cat or dog.

Most shelters are in need of donations of cleaning supplies, paper products like paper towels, old clean rags and towels, and blankets. If you are handy with needlework you can knit sweaters for dogs.

Please don't forget your shelter employees and volunteers! Offer to bring in pizzas or doughnuts, or cases of water or soda for the crew.

Most importantly, please spay or neuter your dog or cat. The less unwanted litters of puppies and kittens out there in the world, the less stress this puts on the incredible animal shelters that do so much for cats and dogs in need.
