No joke: Jerry Seinfeld’s childhood home on Long Island has found its next generation of owners

Would comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld have been funny growing up somewhere other than Long Island?

“Absolutely,” Seinfeld says in a trailer for his 2017 Netflix special, “Jerry Before Seinfeld.” But, he adds, “This is what I had to work with.”

Now, his childhood home in Massapequa has entered contract. The very ordinary three-bedroom, 1½-bath home, at 50 Eastgate Road, asked $549,999. The final sale price, as well as the identity of the soon-to-be owners, aren’t yet known.

Seinfeld isn’t the only celeb who grew up in Massapequa back in the day. It’s also home to Alec Baldwin and his brothers, Ron Kovic of “Born on the Fourth of July” and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snyder.

Seinfeld, 69, lived in the modest residence until he was 8 years old. And though he raised his own children in Manhattan, on the Upper West Side, Seinfeld still draws on his Massapequa years for comedy inspiration.

The sellers even had a letter in the home from Seinfeld, stating that he did indeed live there many decades ago.

The split-level home was built in 1956 and sits on roughly a tenth of an acre. The home, decked out with vinyl siding, includes a fenced-in backyard with a deck, according to the listing.

Inside, there’s an eat-in kitchen, a dining area and a living room with a vaulted ceiling. The basement features a large den.

The listing broker is Russ Bonanno, of Bon Anno Real Estate. The buyers are being repped by Douglas Elliman’s Irene Siconolfi.
