Nathan Florence Continues New Zealand Journey on Idyllic Beachbreak
Nathan Florence continues his Aotearoan adventure this week. Coming hot off of a sketchy slab session in murky water, the heavy-water YouTuber’s latest video takes him to New Zealand beachbreak to test out his cold-water endurance.
After the requisite plug for the latest line of impact suits from Nathan’s brand-new sponsor Florence Marine X, he paddled out for an idyllic session with local charger Finn Fairbairn. While it was a somewhat friendlier experience than the aforementioned foreboding slab, the NZ beachbreak still served up its fair share of tubes and thumping closeouts.
Once Nathan returned to land, his wife Mahina suited up, grabbed an eight-foot gun and paddled out with frequent collaborator Zoard Janko. Left behind on the beach, sans wife and filmer, Nathan found himself in the uncharacteristic role of spectator and cameraman.
“Gone out to get it done. I’m just here, a mere man behind the lens, watching greatness go down,” Florence wryly joked from the sand. “I get to capture and document these incredible athletes, out there pushing the limits of human athleticism in the ocean…. I’m frankly honored.”
