Natalie Portman has finalized her divorce from her now ex-husband Benjamin Millepied, which she filed for in secret in July 2023.

Reps for the actress confirmed the news to Parade on Friday, March 8. The former couple went through the proceedings in France, where the two live with their two children, 12-year-old son Aleph and 7-year-old daughter Amalia, in Feb. 2024. No word yet on their custody arrangement for the kids.

The two creatives met on the set of Black Swan in 2009, in which Portman starred and for which Millepied worked as a choreographer, and they were married in Big Sur in 2012.

Portman once told Today that it definitely wasn't love at first sight for her. "I think I was in, like, dreamland. So it was pretty … it seemed pretty fun the whole time," she said. "It was beautiful, but I don’t know about instant [connection]. It was, like, I really got to know him and then that is when it seemed, ‘Oh, right, this is the person.’”

Trouble arose—or, at least, was made public—over the summer of 2023, when French publication Voici published a rumor that Millepied, 46, had cheated on the 42-year-old and that the couple were quietly working through their problems.

A source told People at the time that the affair "was short-lived and it is over." They emphasized, "He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together."
