Where Natalie Portman, Benjamin Millepied Stand After Alleged Affair

Natalie Portman is reportedly quietly working through problems with her husband, Benjamin Millepied, after the dancer allegedly cheated on her.

The accusation comes from French outlet Voici, per People, with a source confirming to the American publication, "It was short-lived and it is over."

The source continued, "He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together."

The couple met in 2009, on the set of the 2010 film Black Swan, which starred Portman, 41, and earned the actress her Best Actress Academy Award. The film was choreographed, in part, by Millepied, 45, who, at the time, lived with his girlfriend, prima ballerina Isabella Boylston.

Portman once said in an interview with Today that it definitely wasn't love at first sight. "I think I was in, like, dreamland. So it was pretty … it seemed pretty fun the whole time," she shared. "It was beautiful, but I don’t know about instant [connection]. It was, like, I really got to know him and then that is when it seemed, ‘Oh, right, this is the person.’”

The couple were married in Big Sur in 2012, and share two children together: Aleph, 11, and Amalia, 6.

The source also told People that Portman's biggest priority is, of course, the kids and their privacy. "Natalie...has no intention of playing this out in the media," they said.

Parade has reached out to the couple's representatives for comment.
