Mountain Biker Books It Away From Rattlesnake In Wild Video

In certain parts of the country, every outdoor enthusiast dreads one sound: the distinct noise of a rattlesnake shaking its tail.

Watch one mountain biker's priceless reaction to hearing a snake by the trail below.

In this video, Dave was riding along a trail in California when he saw a movement and heard a distinct rattle.

He wasted no time booking it backward to get away from the animal. He did what most of us would do, said forget it, and turned around. No reason to risk it all!

Dave posted the funny video to Reddit, where many users agreed with his simple title: “F that.”

Rattlesnakes are venomous and can be deadly, though they generally bite in self-defense and often bite without venom in dry strikes. The US Forest Service says that 10-15 people per year die of snakebites in the US. Read their precautions here.

It is always worthwhile to use caution when riding in snake country. Sometimes sticks are not sticks.
