My mom is my best friend; we love the same shows, have an obsession with shoes, and see movie theater popcorn as an adequate substitute for dinner. We’re so alike that we gravitate towards similar — if not the same — fashion pieces, too. Most recently, it was the MZ Wallace Crosby Luna purse.

An interior pocket keeps cards, lipstick, and other trinkets safe, while further details include a zipper closure, silver-toned hardware, and the notable MZ Wallace diamond patch sewn onto the bottom. The lightweight matte material is surely one of the bag’s standout features; it doesn’t weigh heavy on your shoulder and expands to fit large items, similar to a flexible tote. “It looks small, but can pack a lot,” said my mom who called the bag’s spacious size “deceiving.” She continued to list items that all “comfortably fit” in the Luna tote, including (but not limited to) her wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, backup battery, lotion, sunglasses, keys, mini hair brush, and pill container.

I reached for this bag nonstop during a trip to Arizona due to its roomy proportions, carrying it to friends’ houses, botanical gardens, and dinners, while my mom has worn hers to the office, Disneyland, and date nights. Both of our bags have stayed intact and still look good as new despite frequent use, which says a lot about its quality.

The bag isn’t only pragmatic, but it’s chic, too. “I receive compliments on it all the time,” said my mom, who told me she needs to “get her hands” on a neutral version for spring and summer.
