Melania Trump Jumps Into the Influencer Space With This Merchandise Move

If you can’t beat them, join them. That’s probably what Melania Trump is thinking as she joins the influencer space by selling a piece of jewelry just in time for Mother’s Day. The $245 “Her Love & Gratitude” necklace is now available on the former first lady’s website, and we have a feeling that Trump family fans will sell it out.

The gold vermeil necklace comes with a one-inch floral pendant on a 16-18 inch adjustable chain. Moms can have “names, initials, or significant dates” engraved on the pendant along with Melania’s signature on the back. The purchase also includes a “limited-edition digital collectible.” This isn’t Donald Trump’s wife’s first foray into the lifestyle space, she also has a series of patriotic Christmas ornaments available for sale in the $35-$45 range, and digital collectibles of watercolor portraits of the former first lady.

“Being a mother is one of the most important roles in life. For this Mother’s Day, I have designed the ‘Her Love & Gratitude’ necklace to express immense gratitude and honor all mothers,” Trump said in a statement Sunday to The Hill. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12, and of course, social media weighed in with their opinions. “I don’t care” is engraved on the back – so special,” one user joked about her controversial jacket from Donald Trump’s administration. Another added, “Grifters gonna grift.” But of course, there are plenty of MAGA fans who are lining up to purchase the item. “In honor of her wonderful mother, no doubt,” wrote one fan.

However, some jewelry experts are noting that the pendant looks like a less expensive version of a classic Van Cleef & Arpels design. The designer version sells for $2,400 and is made of 18k yellow gold with an emerald in the center of the flower. While Melanie’s $245 price is more affordable, jewelry aficionados are pointing out that gold vermeil isn’t as expensive — it’s a sterling silver base with a gold layer on top — so buyer beware!

Melania isn’t the only Trump family member selling items on their website, it’s well-known that Donald Trump is hawking everything from his signature red baseball caps to merchandise with his mug shot and now infamous $60 “God Bless The USA” Bible complete with the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Pledge of Allegiance. It’s quite an array of merchandise for the former president, but with mounting legal bills, Donald Trump is burning through cash quickly.
