Spider-Man 2 venom fight

Venom actor Tony Todd has confirmed that he recorded dialogue for scenes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 where Miles Morales was taken over by the Venom symbiote.

According to Tweets from Evan Filarca, Todd, who took part in a panel at Fan Expo SF, said these scenes were “scrapped” along with around 90 percent of the dialogue he recorded for the game.

Whether Miles Morales-as-symbiote were genuinely intended to be used in the final game or were just part of the production process isn’t clear, but it would have added another dimension to the hit game.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players take control of both Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales’ webslinger - and there’s also a section where players get to control Venom himself.

Todd revealing that only a small portion of his dialogue for the main game may mean he pops up on any future DLC, or even the rumoured Venom spin-off game that seems likely. It’s certainly not unheard of for the symbiote responsible for Venom and other villains to take control of other Marvel heroes in the comic books.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5 has been a massive hit for PlayStation and developer Insomniac, which is currently working on a Wolverine game. All of Insomniac's Marvel games are going to be set in the same universe, so it's not inconceivable that we haven't seen the last of Todd's Venom as a guest star in other titles.
