Marion County students tell Matt Manatee their summer plans

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for writing to me and sharing your summer plans! You are all going to be very busy, and I know you’ll have a wonderful time relaxing and having fun with family and friends. I always have a great time with mine, too.

You all sound very happy and excited about going somewhere new and different, and I like doing that too! There are so many amazing places in the world, aren’t there? I’d love to see more of them, like the Great Lakes! I have always wanted to swim in one of them.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Where is a place you have always wanted to go and see, and why do you want to go? It can be a place you’ve never been before, or a place you love more than anything else. I’m really curious to hear your answers!

See you soon!

Your friend,

Matt Manatee

Editor's note: Please send letters, pictures and jokes to calendar@starbanner.com and write "Matt Manatee" in the message line. The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, May 3. A selection will be published on Friday, May 17, which will be Matt's final column for the school year.

Dear Matt,

I’m very excited for summer! Not because I’m leaving school, because in June it’s my birthday! But I’m probably going to Connecticut for a few weeks, and I’m excited for it! What about you? What are you excited for in summer? See ya soon!

Dear Matt,

I am looking to go to see my cousins. I am also going to a horse show because that is what my parents do for a living. And I might go to the beach and swim.
