The Loved One Who Handled Matthew Perry's Death Details Confirmed

More information has come to light about the circumstances surrounding the death of actor Matthew Perry.

The beloved Friends star tragically passed at the age of 54 on Saturday, Oct. 28, and while there are still a lot of questions revolving around his untimely death, his official death certificate has revealed some new tidbits of information.

As reported by The Blast, Perry's death certificate listed an "informant," meaning the person who provided the information for the deceased's death certificate.

That person was listed as none other than Perry's stepfather, Keith Morrison, the famed Dateline correspondent who married the actor's mother, Suzanne, in 1981.

Perry's death certificate also listed the actor's cause of death as "deferred" while further investigation and toxicology reports are being done.

The certificate confirmed other details that were already known as well, including that Perry died at his home in the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, where he was found in the hot tub on his property.

In the days following his death, the 17 Again actor was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles during a private memorial service attended by his close family and friends, including Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc.

The cast members from the beloved Emmy-winning sitcom also released a joint statement following the news of Perry's death, which read: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family."

"There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss," the statement concluded.

Perry—who was known and loved for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on Friendsis still being remembered by fans everywhere, especially those online who have been sharing their favorite on-screen memories of the late actor.
