Friends star Matthew Perry has died at age 54, according to multiple reports.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, the actor was reportedly found at a Los Angeles home where he appears to have drowned, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

Emergency personnel responded to a call at approximately 4 p.m., the Los Angeles Times reported. It's said Perry was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi at the home.

There were no drugs located at the scene or foul play involved, TMZ further reported.

Fans of Friends immediately took to social media to react to the news of the actor, who played Chandler Bing in the long-running sitcom.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "chandler has always been such a comfort character growing up, i can't believe matthew perry is gone."

Another fan declared, "Matthew Perry gave the world one of the best comedic performances and comfort characters in television, he was not a character but I hope he knows he made an impact on a lot of people, RIP."

Someone else wrote, "thank you matthew perry for giving us chandler bing you and he will never be forgotten."

Meanwhile, another fan posted a touching clip of Perry. They wrote, "Here’s my favorite moment from the ‘Friends’ reunion in 2021 - Matthew Perry talking about the special bond he shared with his co-stars."

Another X user summed up the emotions of many Perry fans, writing: "watching friends for the first time and falling in love with chandler bing is something i will forever hold dearly. one of the best characters on television, and one of the best actors to play it. im beyond distraught. matthew perry was too young. this is heartbreaking."

Parade has reached out to Perry's representatives for comment but did not immediately hear back.
