What you need to know for the Wilkes-Barre City Cherry Blossom Festival

WILKES-BARRE CITY, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Wilkes-Barre City Cherry Blossom Festival is coming to town and they have released details.

According to Mayor George C. Brown the Cherry Blossom Festival will kick off on April 27 and April 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Kirby Park on Market Street.

Friday, April 26, 2024:

  • Preview night wristband $18 all day from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 27, 2024:

  • Northeast Region Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Cherry Blossom 5K. Registration is from 8:30-10:00 AM. The Fun Run starts at 10 AM.

  • Live entertainment at the Martz Pavilion will begin with a 10 AM celebration of World Tai Chi Day.

  • The band Toasted will perform from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Bus 5 will perform from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Amusement ride tickets are $1.50 each, $15 for 12 tickets, and $25 for 24 tickets

Sunday, April 28, 2024

  • Local dance companies will perform in Pirouettes in the Park from 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.

  • Eric Rudy will perform a solo acoustic set from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

  • Portland Frank will close out the Festival from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.

  • $25 all-day wristbands

Huey’s Amusement will have family-friendly rides in the Kirby Park parking lot, as mentioned in the release.
