Kim Kardashian Declares She's 'on My Way to Find Kate' Middleton Amid Rampant Conspiracy Theories

As Kate Middleton recovers from her mid-January abdominal surgery, her continued absence from the public eye sparked conspiracy theories about her whereabouts and well-being. The highly-edited photo the Princess of Wales posted on Mother's Day did nothing to quell the rampant rumors.

In fact, "KateGate" has gotten so out of control that Kim Kardashian joked about it in her social media caption.

On Saturday, March 16, the SKIMS mogul took to Instagram with a carousel of photos. Kardashian rocked a pair of black leather pants adorned with black rhinestones, pairing it with an Up in Smoke Tour T-shirt. She finished the look with a diamond choker, a diamond cross necklace and a tiny black handbag matching her pants.

The reality star leaned against a vehicle in the featured photo of her post, so she captioned the update with, "On my way to go find Kate."

In the comments, folks had mixed reactions to Kardashian's out-of-left-field reference to "KateGate." One person wrote, "Omg that caption is going to stir up so much more drama 😂."

Another Instagram user commented, "Is Kimmy… trolling Kate Middleton 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂."

Meanwhile, Kim's sister, Khloé Kardashian, called her out, writing, "On my way to find out how you got so tall." (From the camera angle, Kardashian appears taller than the large SUV.)

Yet another person wrote, "Pls find her and report back that she is alive and well. 🙏🏻."

At the same time, other Instagram users were not as amused by Kim making light of the public scrutiny Middle has experienced. One person commented, "Kate is an icon.she doesn't need to say everything about her life unlike you. her silence demonstrated that she was more powerful than all the American stars combined. 🥱"

Someone else snarked, "Nothing like a celebrity who allegedly hates rumors, spreading rumors."

Yet another Instagram user pointed out, "It’s not like people from your fam have gone into hiding (rightfully so) during pregnancy or other medical reasons… this caption isn’t it."
