Jeannie Mai’s Tear-Jerking Video Reveals the Way She Will ‘Always Be’ Daughter Monaco’s ‘Definition of Safe'

Jeannie Mai’s video shows everyone that she’s clearly her daughter Monaco’s safe person.

On March 24, Mai shared a darling, sunset-clad video of her and her daughter on a tire swing on the beach. She shared the video to her Instagram with the caption reading, “We both beelined for the swing. I wrapped my arms around her to buckle her in and she gently removed my hands from her waist. ‘No mommy. I not scared.'”

She added, “I could see the sunset glisten in her eyes with each push. She looked back at me and squeezed my leg, assuring me she felt safe. Then her squeal. It summons tears to my eyes every time because all I hear is safe little me.”

Mai then finished the caption reading, “Two things I am certain. God only gives exactly what we need. And I will always be her definition of safe.”

In the video, we see Mai and Monaco cuddling as they’re pushed on a tire swing attached to a palm tree. We can see the waves crashing behind then, with the sun setting, adding another dreamy touch to this post. And the truly beautiful caption shows fans how safe Monaco feels with her mom, something that all moms can tear up over.

We truly, truly love seeing this.

For those who don’t know, back in Jan. 2022, Mai and her ex-husband Jeezy welcomed their daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins into the world.

In a previous, emotional Instagram post, Mai wrote about how being a mother to Monaco has healed a lot of her past trauma, and how motherhood has inspired her to keep those she loves, like Monaco, extra safe.

“Nobody told me it was going to be like THIS. This one little person could rewind time, reboot all my emotions, and help me learn what I need to unlearn??” She asked, “Are kids chances to heal from our own childhood? feels like olddd deep wounds finally getting treated. God im always crying i can’t take it I needed u @monacomaijenkins.”
