During the winter, I find myself reaching for heavier, full-coverage foundations, but now that it’s officially spring and the weather is starting to warm up, I’m looking for a more lightweight option. There’s just something about heat and full-coverage foundations that just don’t mix well with my skin. My skin looks more oily, is breakout-prone, and my foundation always melts off or becomes patchy. So in preparation, I went on the hunt for a lighter-weight skin tint that could offer buildable coverage and a filter-like finish and that perfect product that I’ll be wearing now through summer is Kosas BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream.
The tinted gel moisturizer comes in 24 shades ranging from light to deep with undertone options of cool, olive, neutral, and warm. In the springtime, I simplify my beauty routine drastically. I try to consolidate with products that double as makeup and skincare so I’m using less on my skin. Kosas BB cream has illuminated my need for both moisturizer and foundation and I’m able to achieve hydrated and even skin in just seconds. I like that the consistency isn’t runny like other formulas, so it’s easy to apply with my hands.
After just one layer, my skin is noticeably smoother and redness is completely muted. The second layer provided a bit more coverage and evened out those darker spots on my cheeks and forehead. Just make sure to apply the second layer quickly after the first, as it sets quickly. If I really want that picture-perfect, second-skin finish, I’ll buff it in a bit more with a brush.
It keeps redness and dark spots blurred all day, and I find the finish is dewy and plump by the time I’m taking my makeup off at the end of the day. Note that it doesn’t mesh well with all skincare products, and I experienced some pilling when mixing formulas. I highly recommend this product for those with normal and combination skin types.
