Illinois Animal Shelter Shares 'Cats Who Deserve a Second Chance' to Find Them Forever Homes
If I ever find myself living in a fairy tale and receiving magical wishes, I can guarantee that I would use one to give shelter pets across the globe the loving homes they deserve. My family's life changed for the better once we brought home our first rescue dog over a decade ago, and it makes me smile to think of the millions of other pet owners who feel the very same way.
While a variety of heartbreaking circumstances lead to animals' arrival at the shelter every day, animal shelters also provide a sense of hope for a second chance. That's why, on March 14, TAPS Animal Shelter in Pekin, Illinois, shared a video featuring four 'cats who deserve a second chance.' Let's help them find their perfect forever homes!
Aww! Each of these shelter kitties is as beautiful as the last, and they all seem gentle and affectionate too. What else could a cat owner ask for? Of course, it would take some time for any of these fur babies to adjust to life in a forever home, but as these short interactions have shown, they will do just fine!

So many viewers can relate to commenter @andiichio, who said she "would take every one of them if I could." So would I! These loving cats seem more than ready for a forever home, but waiting at the shelter can be so lonely.
Fortunately, the shelter volunteers and staff go above and beyond to take care of the kitties in their care. They help to keep the cats' kennels clean, give them their meals and water, and provide as much attention as they can. It's not an easy job, but it's so worth it to help rescue cats find their purr-fect homes.
Why Are Animals Surrendered?
After reading why each of these sweet cats was surrendered to the animal shelter, it breaks my heart to think that a person would choose to do this. In some cases, the previous owner may have made the difficult decision to give their pet a better life, but some of these excuses are infuriating. Poor Sushi was simply replaced by another pet!
The silver lining is that these cats are no longer with owners who can't give them the very best care. Of course, the next thing to do is to help them find their forever homes, and every click and share brings them one step closer. You never know who might see the video and feel inspired to adopt a cat!
