Overextending yourself for a loved one wont do either of you any good right now. Step back and think before you offer to do more than you can or should. Much as you might want to fix their problems, it may not be possible, given your own list of responsibilities. Just as importantly, if this is a lesson of self-reliance someone really needs to learn, letting them go it alone could be best. Find a way to support and encourage others without becoming an enabler. Accepting the consequences of ones actions builds character. Believe it or not, even superheroes have limits.
